Section 2.1 - Project Overview

The Neighborhood Police Station by Victo.nosp@m.r.De.nosp@m.Angel.nosp@m.o@fr.nosp@m.eelif.nosp@m.e.ou.nosp@m.tworl.nosp@m.dz.n.nosp@m.et:8002 is a well deigned and made object used the basis for a police station in the Brigadoon Estate. As originally built, the police station was designed for a USA environment. These USA location customisations make it unsuitable for the Brigadoon Estate that is built for an Australian environment.

The aspects that made it unsuitable in an Australian enviroment without changes were:

  • Australian government building rarely fly the Australian flag.
  • The billboard on the roof did not reflect the type of signage used in Australia.
  • The cells are shown as being visible/accessible from the street. This would be seen as an invasion of privacy for the potentially unconvicted detainee and a security list that could put the detainn at risk from the public; or risk the detainee being given contraband.
  • The lack of a security door from the reception area down to the cells.
  • The lack of a barrier between the public and the area behind the counter.
  • The lack of doors for the upper floor offices.

Although the cells have functional barred doors, the operation of the cell doors uses an object the swings in the middle. Unfortunately, the operation of the door shows a black edge on the half of the door object that is invisible. This is easily fixed by making the offending edge transparent.
